Become a Science Museum volunteer
We are glad to be able to work with volunteers in a variety of ways. Some of our volunteers work directly with our collections on projects which allow us to make these objects and our knowledge accessible to a wider audience. Others work in public facing roles, assisting with events that help us engage our visitors with science and technology.
There are many different reasons to volunteer. Students may be looking for a way to gain experience in the museum environment, whilst other people may be looking for a career change. For these people, working with the museum is great way to gain new skills and boost their CV. Retired people may volunteer as a way of sharing their experience and skills with us. Some volunteers just really love the Science Museum, and want to participate in any way they can.
Whatever your background and experience, the Volunteer Programme is open to anyone aged 18 and over. A science or museum background is not essential, but enthusiasm and a willingness to get stuck in is important!
