Science Museum Fellows

In 2009, as part of the Museum’s centenary celebrations, we launched the Science Museum Fellows Programme to recognise some of the scientists and individuals who have changed our world through academic research, design, technology and philanthropy.

Every year we invite selected individuals to join the programme and become Fellows of the Science Museum.

2016 Fellowship Awards

Professor Dame Ann Dowling OM DBE FRS FREng has been nominated and elected as a Fellow of the Science Museum. In appreciation of her distinguished contribution to the advancement of science and engineering through research and advocacy.

Dr Helen Sharman OBE FRSC has been nominated and elected as a Fellow of the Science Museum. In appreciation of her distinguished contribution to the advancement of human space exploration.

Rt Hon George Osborne CH MP FScM has been nominated and elected as a Fellow of the Science Museum. In recognition of the tremendous support HM Treasury has given to the museum sector and in particular the Science Museum Group.

Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell has been nominated and elected as a Fellow of the Science Museum Group. In recognition of her distinguished contribution to public engagement with science, particularly in Greater Manchester, and for her advocacy for women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

David Harding: in appreciation of his distinguished contribution to the advancement of science education, research and philanthropy.

Professor John O'Keefe: in appreciation of his distinguished contribution to the advancement of world science through research and advocacy.

Alexei Arkipovich Leonov: in appreciation of his distinguished contribution to the advancement of human space exploration.
