This summer, we are screening The Dark Knight Rises: The IMAX Experience, the epic conclusion of Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, in our stunning IMAX Cinema.
Starring Christian Bale, Ann Hathaway, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman and set eight years after Batman took the fall for Two Face’s crimes, a new terrorist leader overwhelms Gotham’s finest and the Dark Knight must resurface to protect the city that brands him an enemy.
The Dark Knight, released in 2008, was the first major feature to include footage shot with IMAX cameras. Although other films have done so since, The Dark Knight Rises: The IMAX Experience contains the most, with director Christopher Nolan this time using the technique to fill the screen with an hour's worth of giant IMAX footage.
The Science Museum is one of only five places in the UK where you can see it as the director and cinematographer intended it - on a screen taller than 4 double-decker buses!
